National Science Day
KSS Samiti’s K.S.R. College of Education’s Science Club celebrated National Science Day on 28/02/2022 at 3.30 pm in the college. The celebration commenced by performing puja to the statue of Founder Gavisiddappa Belawadi by the Guest of Honour Sri. Ravi B. Dandin, Secretary, Kanakadas Shikshana Samiti, Gadag. The formal function began with a prayer song by students Snehal, Vidya and Pragati. Student Swati N welcomed the gathering. The Guest of Honour, Sir Ravi B. Dandin, Dr. B. G. Dharwad, Principal and President of the function and other dignitaries on and off the dias paid respects to Nobel Laureate Sir C.V. Raman by worshipping his photo. The guest of honour Sri. Ravi B. Dandin spoke about the inseparable role of science in our lives and also recalled the contributions of Sir C. V. Raman to humanity. Students Annapurna C, Sneha M, Keerti K and Sachin H spoke about National Science Day. On this occasion Working Models Exhibition was organised by the Science Club. Science students Vidya Patil, Sandhya Rathod, Pragati Patil, Snehal Mangutkar, Sushma Nagrale, Pooja Shahapurkar, Annapurna Chingudi prepared science working models representing Excretory system, Respiratory system, Solar and Lunar eclipses, Electroscope, Moving Robot, Star constellations, etc. KSRR School students were invited for the exhibition where students explained scientific concepts with the help of working models.
Dr. S. A. Narasgouda, Chairperson of Science Club spoke about the significance of National Science Day and the contributions of Sir C. V. Raman.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. B G Dharwad, Principal and President of the function highlighted the significance of the day and appreciated the efforts of students in preparing the working models. Science club deputy secretary Vidya Patil proposed the vote of thanks. All the members of the staff and students of 3rd semester were present on the occasion. Student Sushma N anchored the programme.
