National Science Day and International Women’s Day were celebrated at KSS’s Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna College of Education, Belagavi on 13/03/2026.
The programme began with the worship of the photograph of Dr. C. V. Raman and watering a plant.
In the introductory speech, senior professor and Science Club Secretary Dr. S. A. Narasagouda spoke about the personality of Dr. C. V. Raman and the origin of National Science Day. She stated that science and women are like two lights, and without them life itself would not exist.
The Chief Guest of the programme, Mrs. Lalita Kyasanavar, BRC, City, Belagavi addressed the gathering and said that as future teachers, trainees should teach textbook knowledge in a way that touches the minds of students. She also emphasized that our experiences are the real reasons behind our achievements.
The programme was presided over by the Principal Dr. G. M. Sunagar, who delivered a comprehensive speech explaining that science has become an integral part of our lives. He spoke about science as a power, invention, its contributions and applications, and also explained how International Women’s Day came to be celebrated in different countries. He highlighted the remarkable achievements of women and their role in various fields.
As part of the programme, first-year trainees organized a science exhibition, and second-year trainees presented two short plays. Speeches were delivered by Balakrishna from the second year and Mehtab from the first year.
Professor Sagar Toranagatti conducted the prize distribution ceremony for the science exhibition.
The programme included prayer by student Udaykumar, welcome by student Vijay Kumar Pammar, guest introduction by student Sammed, vote of thanks by student Anil Rathod, and anchoring by students Sagar Arege and Kiran Aneppanavar.
All the faculty members of the college and the first and second year trainees were present at the programme.
