Report on Felicitation Ceremony of Chairman Sri Ravindranath B. Dandin,Vijay Ratna awardee and Retirement of Principal Dr. B. G. Dharwad

A grand felicitation ceremony was organized at K.S.R. College of Education, Belagavi on 30/06/2025 to honour two significant milestones — the conferring of the Vijay Ratna Award by Vijayavani Newspaper to the Chairman Sri Ravi B. Dandin for his remarkable contributions to the field of education, and the retirement of Principal Dr. B. G. Dharwad after 36 years of dedicated service.

The event commenced with a heartfelt video presentation by second-year students Jyoti and team, depicting the illustrious journey and contributions of Dr. Dharwad. This was followed by paying floral tributes and performing puja to the statue of the revered founder Late Shri Gavisiddappa Belawadi, Ex-MLC, by the Secretary, Principal, and staff.

The formal function began with a prayer song by student Ritika, setting a respectful and serene tone. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. G. M. Sunagar, followed by introductory remarks from Sri D. H. Naik.

Mrs. Sheela B. Dandin, Secretary of KS Samiti, presided over the function and was felicitated on behalf of Sri Ravindranath B. Dandin, the Vijay Ratna Awardee, by the college Principal and staff.

Principal Dr. B. G. Dharwad was ceremoniously felicitated upon his retirement by the management, faculty, and students of the college. Students from both the first and second years expressed their admiration and gratitude through warm felicitations. Former students of both D.Ed. and B.Ed. programs, officials from the education department, principals and faculty of various colleges, former principals and retired faculty members, staff of KSRR School, and numerous well-wishers and friends were present to honour Dr. B.G. Dharwad’s dedicated service.

Several speakers including current students, alumni, and colleagues shared fond memories and praised Dr. Dharwad for his humble nature, commitment, and leadership. A touching musical tribute was presented by first-year students Prema and Meghraj, dedicated to all teachers.

In his address to the gathering, Dr. B.G. Dharwad expressed deep gratitude for the honour and support received throughout his tenure and reflected on the key milestones of his 36-year-long journey in education.

The presidential remarks were delivered by Mrs. S. R. Dandin, Secretary of KS Samiti, who appreciated the contributions of both the awardee and the retiree.

The function concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. N. S. Jadhav, and the program was efficiently anchored by Dr. G. R. Kotennavar. All attendees were served with sweets and refreshments to mark the joyous occasion.

The event was a memorable tribute to two stalwarts in the field of education and was graced by heartfelt moments of gratitude, celebration, and reflection.
